Torghatten Aqua congratulates deputy chairman of the board and main shareholder Paul Birger Torgnes with the honorary award from Feap. At Feap's annual general meeting in Istanbul recently, aquaculture pioneer Paul Birger Torgnes was awarded the Feap Prize of Honour. Feap - the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers - is an association of the national aquaculture organisations in Europe.
The appeals unit of the Norwegian Food Safety Authority overturned the rejection
In December 2022, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority's Northern Region rejected the application to approve the aquaculture facility at Toft. Helgeland Miljøfisk appealed the rejection in January 2023, after which the case went through several rounds before ending up at the Norwegian Food Safety Authority's Appeals Unit in February last year. The Appeals Unit has now overturned the decision in Region North, and is sending it back to Region North for a "new assessment".

Success for Campus BLÅ Fagskole
After just six months, the Campus BLÅ study programme "Aquaculture Operations Manager" can already be characterised as a success. The first cohort started in the autumn, and the second cohort is well underway, with 17 students. The students take a two-year, part-time programme based on e-learning and four sessions. The students come from Bergen in the south to Alta in the north, and they have a lot of good things to say about the programme: -Good content with lecturers who know their stuff. Good news for Campus BLUE
Campus BLÅ's sister company, Havbruksakademiet Nord, has finally obtained its teaching licence for fish farming after a long process with the Directorate of Fisheries. Campus BLÅ owns 46 % of Havbruksakademiet Nord, and has been heavily involved in building up the school in recent years. The licence covers 780 tonnes of biomass and is valid for 10 years.

Torghatten Aqua has appointed Stian Olaisen as Quality Manager in the Group. The position is newly created, and Olaisen will start on 1 July at the latest. Campus BLUE at Aqua Nor
Campus BLÅ once again took part in the Aqua Nor aquaculture trade fair. We had a stand where we told visitors about the totality of our competence programme. In addition to participating with a stand, our students and teachers visited the exhibition. It has become a tradition for us to bring the entire school to Aqua Nor every other year, and this visit was the third in a row.
John Arne is principal at Campus BLÅ vocational school
John Arne Andersen has been appointed principal at Campus BLÅ vocational school from 20 September. Andersen is from Ylvingen in Nordland and was originally a fisherman before becoming a teacher, with further education in management and economics.
He has previously worked as principal at Nordkapp Maritime Vocational School, Nordkapp Upper Secondary School and Hammerfest Upper Secondary School.
