Certification course in Flatanger

To meet the growing need for certification and re-certification, Campus BLÅ Kurssenter AS is establishing itself in Flatanger in Trøndelag.

- "We've long seen the need to establish ourselves in Trøndelag, and we're delighted to have Dag Erling Lein on board as a local course provider," says Johan Ormøy, general manager of Campus BLÅ Kurssenter AS.

Campus BLÅ Kurssenter was established in 2020 and is a sub-company of Campus BLÅ, a competence provider consisting of an upper secondary school, vocational school and course centre.

- New and stringent requirements for certification and re-certification mean that the need for our services is increasing," says Ormøy.

Dag Erling Lein is a certified instructor with experience from courses and the offshore industry, and he is looking forward to holding courses in Flatanger.

- "I've wanted to run safety training under a certified training company for a long time, and I've had a dialogue with Johan over a long period. Now we're ready to start, and I'm looking forward to providing training and skills development in my local area," says Lein.

The course programme currently includes forklift courses, crane G20 and crane G4. Campus BLÅ also has approval to run maritime education programmes, and if there is interest in maritime courses, this would be a natural next step.

- The Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA) has made changes that entail the introduction of a new certificate of competence for deck officer class 6 (D6). This means that masters on most cargo ships with a maximum length of 24 metres must have the new certificate by 1 January 2024. This means that there will be a great need for maritime courses in the coming years," says Ormøy.

• Crane operator course G20 14 February
• Truck course 21 March
• Bridge and overhead travelling crane G4 28 March
