Conny Gustavsson becomes new general manager of the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre
Conny Gustavsson has been appointed General Manager of the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre and started the job on 31 October.
- "We are very pleased to have Conny Gustavsson on board," says Knut Idar Torgnes, Chairman of the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre. "Although recent times have been demanding for the entire tourism industry and also our business due to the corona pandemic, we have great faith in the concept we are developing. Conny's expertise and experience will be of great benefit in the further investment and development of the business, and we are excited about the future," continues Torgnes.
Gustavsson has solid and versatile experience from the tourism industry in Norway and abroad. For the past four years, as general manager of Malangen Resort AS, he has managed a business with more than 75 rooms and over 50 employees. Conny is a Swedish citizen and has worked in Norway for the past 15 years.
- "I chose to accept the job because the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre is an exciting business. It's interesting to have the opportunity to develop the company further and to be part of the Torghatten Aqua group with many offensive projects. I see great potential in combining tourism with salmon farming display activities, and see southern Helgeland as the perfect destination for this combination," says Gustavsson.
During the pandemic, the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre has expanded its operations with three new cabins, and the company now has 11 cabins with 40 beds. In addition, there is a guest marina and motorhome camping. The company also has salmon display facilities, a restaurant and an exhibition about the aquaculture industry and Toft in the old days. So far in 2022, the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre has registered over 36,000 visitors. In total, the company has 25 full- and part-time employees.
