John Arne is principal at Campus BLÅ vocational school

John Arne Andersen has been appointed principal at Campus BLÅ vocational school from 20 September. Andersen is from Ylvingen in Nordland and was originally a fisherman before becoming a teacher, with further education in management and economics.

He has previously worked as principal at Nordkapp Maritime Vocational School, Nordkapp Upper Secondary School and Hammerfest Upper Secondary School.

- "We're very pleased to have a highly competent and experienced principal to lead our vocational school.

In recent years, Andersen has been municipal director in both Vevelstad and Herøy.

- John Arne is a real find for us with his background and experience, both in education and management, and we're really looking forward to having him join the Campus BLÅ team," says Rikke Sivertsen Dahl, chairman of the board of Campus BLÅ vocational school.

The newly appointed principal has actually retired twice, but is looking forward to getting started:

- "I'm happy to be able to contribute to development. We fulfil a need in society, and when I'm allowed to be involved, I'm involved," says Andersen.

- We must dare to throw ourselves into it," he says, quoting his favourite motto from Søren Kierkegaard: "To dare is to lose your footing for a little while. Not to dare is to lose oneself."

Campus BLÅ Fagskole offers vocational education in aquaculture management.
