Another successful Campus BLUE conference

Another successful Campus BLUE conference was held on 11 November
Last week we held our annual Campus BLÅ conference. It was a successful day with new acquaintances and professional replenishment.
The programme was varied and rich in content. The theme of this year's conference was the future of aquaculture, and the key words for the speakers were sustainability, technology development and access to labour.
Among other things, we heard fish health biologist Camilla Robertsen from Nordlaks talk about Havfarmen Jostein Albert and the experiences from production - useful and informative.
Einar Brattland talked about the entrepreneurial adventure he has created with his company, Akvapartner. We were taken along on the journey from the garage, via the fish cages, to where they are today with new production facilities, 14 employees, four patents and customers all over the world.
Arne Hjeltnes talked about the future along our coast. Arne said that Helgeland is not only unique from a natural point of view, it's also a region where a lot of exciting and forward-looking things are happening. He also showed a small taster from the new series he has helped to create "People of the North".
Breeder, teacher and enthusiast Arnfinn Torgnes has worked in aquaculture for around 40 years and is a recruiter in a class of his own. He talked about recruitment to the industry - especially girls. For many years, he has been at the forefront of arranging a separate girls' camp at the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre. Every year for the past 11-12 years, girls from the 10th grade have spent two days at Toft and literally taken a deep dive into the industry.
The other speakers were Paul Birger Torgnes (Sjømat Norge), Sunniva Greger (Kunnskapsparken Bodø), Brynjar Forbergskog (Akvafuture), Snorre Jonassen (Cermaq), Sten Roald Lorentzen (Aquaculture Innovation), Svein Erik Hjerpbakk (NCP), Henriette Hansen (LetSea), Malin Johansen (NCE Aquaculture) and Stig Selvåg (Campus BLÅ).
Thank you to all participants and speakers!
Next year's conference is 9 November 2023 - welcome!
