Norway's day at the World Expo

EXPO2020

This week, Norway Day was organised during the world exhibition in Dubai, EXPO2020.

- "Norway is taking part in the EXPO2020 world exhibition to showcase Norway as the leading ocean nation we are. We are proud to be an A-partner at the exhibition," says Paul Birger Torgnes, Chairman of Campus BLÅ Norwegian Aquaculture Centre.

Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Bjørnar Skjæran hosted the opening of Norway Day. In addition, the leader of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), the president of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) and senior executives from the Norwegian business community were in attendance.

One day was also set aside for the Aquaculture Forum, where Torgnes gave a presentation on the importance of expertise and education in the aquaculture industry.

- "It's important to shed light on this important topic, both because of the strong growth in the industry and the formidable technological development," says Torgnes.

The Ocean Expo - Norsk Havpaviljong Foundation was also represented by chairman Bjørn R. Saltermark.

- I have actively worked to secure support for the reuse of the Norwegian pavilion, which we plan to build at Toft," says Saltermark.

The Norwegian pavilion at the World Expo in Dubai, which starts in October 2021, will profile Norway as a leading maritime nation, with Norwegian technology and sustainable, green solutions from the maritime industries as its theme.

Innovation Norway is responsible for Norway's participation, which is funded as a joint venture between the state and industry. Campus BLÅ is one of the organisations contributing funding, and has entered into an agreement with Innovation Norway to rebuild the Norwegian pavilion in the Campus BLÅ area. The OCEAN EXPO - Norwegian Ocean Pavilion Foundation will continue to profile Norway as a leading ocean nation by rebuilding Norway's EXPO2020 pavilion on the Helgeland coast.
